Gamunex declares pharmaceutical stoppers latex-free
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina - Pharmaceutical manufacturer, Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc., has said that future products in its Gamunex range will be latex-free. In a release, the comapny said, "elimination of latex from the rubber stoppers used in the product packaging, [means] physicians can confidently use Gamunex in their patients with latex allergy."
Gamunex is the preferred liquid immune globulin intravenous among allergists/immunologists surveyed, according to Harris Interactive. The new latex-free vials are currently being shipped and are becoming available to US healthcare practitioners and patients.
