New European chief for Hankook
Seoul, Korea - Hankook Tire has announced the appointment of Seung Do Jin (pictured), currently executive vice president of Hankook's headquarters in Korea, to the position of Head of Europe Headquarters.
Seung Do Jin, who has been a driving force behind the improvements in, and expansion of Hankook's distribution channels in Korea, officially took over the position last week.
He replaces Seung Hwa Suh who was recently promoted to the Global CEO, during whose era the company made a €500 million investment in its first European production facility in Dunaujvaros, Hungary.
The company also said first net quarter profits fell by 13.4 percent to KWon 48 900 million (€38.9 million), compared with KWon 56 500 million in the first three months of 2006. The company blamed the fall on slow sales in China.
