Michelin renews global contract with Volvo group
Paris - On 26 Jan, 2007, Michelin renewed a long-term global contract with the Volvo Group.
The initial global contract was signed in December 2003. Under the new contract, Michelin will offer truck tyres as original equipment for vehicles assembled by Volvo in Europe, North America and South America under the tradenames Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Renault Trucks and Mack Trucks.
Volvo's customers within the main long-haul and other truck ranges will be offered tyres that benefit from Michelin Durable Technologies, making them safer and more cost-effective for trucking companies.
“We're delighted that the Volvo Group has once again put its trust in us and we're proud to contribute to its international growth and development,†said Pete Selleck, member of Michelin's Group Executive Council and Managing Director of the Truck Division.
The contract renewal has consolidated Michelin's position as the Volvo Group's worldwide largest volume tire supplier.
