US rubber processor, Pelmor signs Thai partner
Newtown Philadelphia - Pelmor Laboratories, Inc., a rubber products manufacturer, has entered into a manufacturing agreement with a Thailand rubber products company, said Pelmor President William Ross Sr.
The un-named Thai partner, said Ross, is a 30-year old, ISO-certified, full-service rubber parts moulding and extrusion company that operates two plants around the clock.
†The creation of Pelmor Thailand Co., Ltd., he declared,. “enables Pelmor to meet the challenge of price competition in the global marketplace while, at the same time, producing custom parts that meet our customers' specifications in every regard.â€
Pelmor Thailand Co., Ltd., will perform in Asia the same rubber moulding and extruding services performed by Pelmor Laboratories, Inc. in the United States. The Asian firm will use US-manufactured chemicals, along with the rubber mixing formulas, blueprints, specifications, processing instructions and inspection criteria developed and used by Pelmor Laboratories since its founding in 1956, said the US firm.
Ross claimed that "Since Pelmor is responsible for the vast majority of the costs associated with these Asian parts, they may be considered to be 'Made in America'.â€
