Tyresense project updates web page
Brussels - The home page of Europe's Tyresense project has been updated. The project is run jointly by Goodyear and the Centre of Advanced European Studies in Bonn, Germany. The aim is to create a sensor that can "detect and monitor critical real-time tyre performance, including aquaplaning or friction between the tyre and icy roadways."
In the introduction page, the co-organisers say, "The experiments within this project, he says, have now demonstrated successfully the feasibility of the approach. The particular physical characteristics of the materials used allow for the development of very simple yet highly sensitive elements that are suited for a remote measurement of mechanical stress, including pressure, torque, friction or temperature, in the often harsh road transport environment.
