Two Japanese commodities exchanges merge
Osaka - The Central Japan Commodity Exchange (C-Com) and the Osaka Mercantile Exchange (OME) are to merge from 1 Jan., 2007. The two exchanges announced the deal yesterday (Tuesday). The surviving exchange will be the C-Com
The the new Exchange will list the total of 10 different contracts. Five of them currently listed on the OME market (including RSS3 and TSR20, and Natural Rubber Index) will be traded on the C-Com/OME market at the Osaka Trading Center, while the other five, currently listed on the C-Com market (Gasoline, Kerosene, Gas Oil, Ferrous Scrap and Eggs) will be traded at the main office in Nagoya.
