Dow Corning adds LSR capacity in Wiesbaden, Germany
Wiesbaden, Germany--Dow Corning Corp. has announced that it will increase manufacturing capacity of certain liquid silicone rubbers by up to 50 percent in its Wiesbaden, Germany, plant to meet fast-growing global demand.
Unprecedented demand for silicone-based products, and for high-consistency rubber and liquid silicone rubber specifically, is being driven by major infrastructure development and product innovation in key industry sectors,†said Terry Strange, Dow Corning's Global Supply Chain Manager for Engineered Elastomers. Dow Corning is addressing this situation by optimising production wherever possible through supply chain improvements, productivity enhancements and investments in additional manufacturing capacity.â€
The Wiesbaden increase will be a result of significant new equipment investments. It is the latest in a series of steps Dow Corning has taken to develop significant, additional manufacturing and supply capability for the long-term.
