Dow claims leadership in speciality elastomer sector
Midland, Michigan -- The Dow Chemical Company has reaffirmed its commitment to leadership in the specialty elastomers marketplace following the formal dissolution of the DuPont-Dow Elastomers (DDE) nine-year joint venture.
"Our intent is to provide the specialised product solutions and global technical and service resources that our customers need to grow and distinguish themselves in their own markets," said Julie Fasone Holder, vice president, Dow Specialty Plastics and Elastomers. "The suite of elastomers technologies and brands we are bringing back to Dow will enable us to provide our customers with a full range of specialty elastomers and plastics solutions all from one fully integrated, global source."
Dow said it will continue to support all former DDE customers in key markets such as automotive, wire and cable and building and construction with a full portfolio of materials and services. The company also sees continued expansion into new market areas and applications for elastomers, driven by Dow's commitment to constant innovation in polymer technology and strong R&D pipeline.
"We are also welcoming into our specialty plastics and elastomers fold more than 100 new people from the joint venture, who will further enhance our ability to provide the technical expertise, R&D support and insight into our customers' businesses that have long set Dow apart," Fasone Holder said.
