Michelin begins expansion of Dundee tyre plant
Dundee, Scotland--Michelin has begun a £1.2 million (Euro 1.8 million) investment in its car tyre plant in Dundee, Scotland. This is the first phase of a £4 million project to increase total output of the plant by 20 percent by the year 2007, said Michelin. The factory produed 7.6 million tyres in 2004.
Michelin said no new machinery would be installed, but the investment is designed to increase productivity of existing equipment at the factory. The plant should make over 9 million units in 2007, said the company.
