Lehmann & Voss buys Italian distributor
Hamburg, Germany--Lehmann & Voss & Co has acquired Italian company Chem Import, and takes over all its operations from 1 January. Chem Import had a 2003 turnover of around €16 million and employs seven. The company has specialised in commodities and additives for the rubber sector.
L & V already operates a subsiduary in Italy, Lehvoss Italia. This company will move its headquarters to the Chem Import offices in Caronno Pertusella, near Milan. The present general manager of Chem Import, Maurizio Rosso, will be head of both companies.
“Through its links to the Lehvoss Group, Chem Import will be able to offer a unique range of products to the Italian rubber industry," says Karl-Heinz Teschke, head of the Carbon Blacks and Rubber Chemicals Division at Lehmann & Voss & Co. “Until now, Chem Import focussed on synthetic rubbers. Now the range will be broadened by the addition of silanes and a wide selection of carbon blacks and, above all, by user-friendly additive preparations from production sites in Europe and China owned by Lehmann & Voss & Co."
