PolymerLatex raising latex prices again in January
Marl, Germany-Synthetic latex supplier Polymer Latex GmbH & Co. KG is raising prices for its SBR latices by Euro100/tonne and for its pure acrylic latices by Euro150/tonne, from 1 Jan 2005.
The firm says the rises are necessary as a result of “continued cost pressure from raw materials and rising cost for energy and transportation.â€
This follows a Euro200/tonne increase in nitrile latex prices in November, a result of “insufficient margins, which are caused by the ongoing, steep increases of raw materials costs of acrylonitrile and butadiene,†the firm said.
These moves in turn come after a series of earlier price rises by the Marl-based latex supplier. In October, PolymerLatex lifted prices across its product range by Euro150/tonne, following an August increase of Euro180/tonne. In July the firm raised SBR latex prices by Euro120/tonne.
