Japanese extract isoprene from wild mushrooms
Tokyo--Japanese researchers have, reportedly, extracted latex from a species of edible wild mushroom. Each 1 kg of latex requires 10 kg of mushrooms. The chichitake mushrooms cannot be farmed and grow only in the height of summer. The research was carried out at Gunma University, west of Tokyo.
Editor's comment This seems like such a waste of wild mushrooms. Even Guayule is more cost-effective and reliable than this. And Guayule doesn't even taste good.
