Degussa expands Brazilian carbon black plant
Frankfurt, Germany--Degussa AG has announced plans to expand its two-year-old carbon black factory in Paulinia, Brazil. The company intends to add between 30 000 and 50 000 tonnes of annual capacity to the plant, bringing overall capacity to around 100 000 tonnes per year. Degussa said it has filed an application for the necessary permit with the environmental authorities."
The Paulinia factory, was set up two years ago as a greenfield project with capacity for 60 000 tonnes per year. Degussa said, "The dynamic growth of the Brazilian market and the favorable response of our customers prompted us to start a project to increase capacity."
