Titan exonerated in Texas tractor tyre lawsuit
BROWNSVILLE, Texas (Sept. 1)--A state district court jury in Brownsville found Titan Tire Corp. not liable in a $10 million lawsuit filed by the family of Raymundo Barrera
Barrera, 33, died of massive internal injuries in October 2002 when a Titan tractor tyre he was filling with air exploded. Barrera's family charged that Titan was liable for not providing instructions in Spanish on the tyre's proper maintenance, but the jury unanimously found Barrera at fault.
A spokeswoman for Titan declined comment, because the plaintiffs likely are to appeal. Michael Cowen, the Barrera family's attorney, could not be reached for comment.
