New boss for Solvay Engineered Polymers

Mansfield, Texas-Solvay Engineered Polymers Inc. has appointed Fred Young as president with effect from 1 Aug. He replaces Pierre Joris, who has become general manager of group's Performance Compounds business. Young was previously president of Solvay Draka, Inc. and prior to that led Solvay Industrial Films.
Solvay Engineered Polymers includes thermoplastics vulcanisates in its polymer materials portfolio, which is focused mainly on the automotive sector.
Commenting on his appointment, Young said: “The company and its employees have been successful in meeting the challenges of the ever-increasing demands of a very competitive market. Future success will require us to leverage these strengths in our core automotive business while implementing our new market initiatives.â€
