Indian tyre production, exports surged in April 2004
Production and exports of auto tyres in India are surging ahead, with Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA) statistics for April 2004 showing 30 percent year-on-year growth in production and 40 percent growth in exports of auto tyres. Truck tyre production grew some 13 percent in the same period, to 880 000 units, while production of two-wheeler tyres was also 30 percent ahead of the same month a year ago.
