Degussa expands Polish carbon black unit

Frankfurt, Germany-Degussa AG has doubled the capacity of its carbon black facility in Jaslo, Poland, to around 40 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa). The expansion involved a transfer of production from the group's sites in western Europe, according to Georg Hohn Degussa's vice president, Tire Blacks.
Following the Polish expansion, Hohn confirmed the capacities of Degussa's other European carbon black units as:
-Degussa (CofraBlack) Ambes, France; 40 kpta
-Degussa Karlscheuren, Germany 125 ktpa
-Deutsche GasRusswerke (54%-owned by Degussa) Dortmund, Germany; 116 ktpa
-Degussa Ravenna, Italy; 76 ktpa
-Degussa Malmo, Sweden; 45 ktpa
-Degussa Sines, Portugal; 35 ktpa.
