Malaysia might ban rubberwood exports
Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik, Malaysia's minister of primary industries has reportedly warned that Malaysia might ban future exports of rubberwood to ensure local processors have sufficient material to work with. Stocks of rubberwood in Malaysia have fallen by half, and the lack of historical planting means there is less wood coming onto the market, according to a Malaysian newspaper
