Geneva, Switzerland-Audi AG will offer Michelin's PAX system on the 2005 version of the A6, extending a fitment option from the current generation A6 model (news headline image) launched last year.
The new A6 PAX option will be available from September 2004 throughout Europe, in summer and winter versions, Michelin announced at the Geneva Motor Show
The two firms have also jointly developed a sporty new wheel design specially for the runflat tyre system, added a 2 March statement from the French tyre maker.
Audi also offers PAX as an option on its A8 car launched in 2002, and is currently one of two major customers for Michelin's runflat system-the other being Renault SA-since its launch in 1998.
PAX features an unseatable tyre, an asymmetrical rim, a run-flat insert ring enabling zero pressure continued driving for at least 200 km at 80 kmh and a pressure monitoring system.
