Greenpeace opposes tyres in Australian cement kiln
Greenpeace has asked the New South Wales Government to reject an application by Blue Circle Cement to use tyres as a fuel in one of its plants. Blue Circle has applied for permission to use alternative fuels, including tyres and oil at its plant in New Berrima plant, west of Wollongong. Greenpeace argues that emissions of dioxins will increase, if alternative fuels are used.
