Cabot to expand Brazilian carbon black plant
Cabot Corp. is planning an expansion of its carbon black unit at Maua, Sao Paulo, Brazil, to 120 000 tonnes per year, from 80 000 tonnes per year. The new reactor is due to start up towards the end of next year.
Bill Brady, executive vice president and general manager of carbon black, said, "This capacity expansion will enable us to respond to increasing demand and the needs of our customers. We are very positive about the South American carbon black market and the region continues to be integral to our global carbon black strategy."
