Enquiry expands remit on anniversary of West Co explosion
US Federal safety investigators are expanding the remit of their investigation to cover many types of dust-related exmplosion. The US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board believes the West explosion was caused by an accumulation of polyethylene dust in the suspended ceiling. Six people were killed and many more injured in the blast, which took place on 29 Jan, 2003.
