Cleveland, Ohio - PolyOne Corp. is building a specialty rubber compounding plant near Shanghai, China, primarily to serve printing and industrial roller customers with Chinese operations.
The new unit, PolyOne Elastomers & Performance Additives Shanghai, also will supply US-based automotive parts and industrial components producers with fledgling operations in China, the company said.
The plant will process a variety of elastomers, including natural rubber, fluoroelastomers, NBR, EPDM and SBR, with two finishing and one calendering lines.
Production is scheduled to begin by the end of the first quarter. The investment was not disclosed.
