GE clear to acquire Agfa NDT business

Brussels-The European Commission has cleared General Electric's proposed acquisition of the Agfa non-destructive testing (NDT) business from Agfa-Gevaert of Belgium. Clearance is conditional on GE divesting its own NDT business Panametrics, the EC stated 5 Dec. NDT devices are used in a wide range of industrial applications, including testing for cracks in tyres and hidden corrosion in oil pipelines.
