Trelleborg expands aircraft distribution deal with Proponent

Farnborough, UK — Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Aerospace has signed a global distribution agreement with aerospace distributor Proponent covering aftermarket aircraft interior components manufactured by its former Magee Plastics business.

Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow 20 July, the agreement appoints Proponent as the ‘global master distributor’ for the product range following Trelleborg's acquisition of Magee Plastics in December 2024.

The arrangement builds on “long-standing relationship” between TSS and Proponent and is intended to simplify distribution while maintaining product quality and customer service.

"This new arrangement benefits customers by providing continuity of excellent products and service but in a more efficient way," said Gordon Roper, business unit president, global aerospace, at TSS.

The former Magee Plastics facility in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, now operates within TSS aerospace business.

The site manufactures high-performance thermoplastic and composite aircraft interior components, including window shades, sidewall and ceiling panels, passenger service units, cargo panels, seat parts, lavatory and galley components, cockpit equipment and cabin retrofit systems.

Elsewhere, TSS said it continues to invest in product design, material technologies and aerospace manufacturing capacity to support sealing applications across the aerospace sector.

With its aerospace operations, the company manufactures airframe seals for aircraft doors, canopies, hatches and panels.

The business also supplies hydraulic, actuation and engine seals used in flight controls, landing gear, electronic control units (ECUs), auxiliary power units (APUs) and aircraft engines.

According to Trelleborg, TSS is “the world's largest producer of aerospace window seals.”
