Japanese supplier moves to centralise operations and strengthen business base
Tokyo, Japan – Eneos Materials has agreed with JSR to acquire land and take over logistics operations related to elastomer products, as part of efforts to “accelerate structural reform” and strengthen its business.
The measures include the acquisition of land at the Yokkaichi plant in Japan, and the transfer of logistics, order processing and billing functions previously handled by JSR, the company said in a 1 April statement.
Eneos Materials was established in April 2022 following the spin-off of JSR’s elastomer business (ERJ report).
The latest acquisitions, said Eneos Materials, come as both companies “reviewed their respective roles and the way they cooperate” in their fifth year of operations.
The land linked to manufacturing facilities at the Yokkaichi site was acquired from JSR in October 2025, with all procedures completed.
The company said the move will improve “flexibility in the expansion, new installation, and modification or abolition of facilities,” and will help strengthen its business base.
Separately, Eneos Materials signed a business transfer agreement in November last year to take over logistics operations for elastomer products.
The functions were formally transferred on 1 April and are now handled internally.
The company said the move will “promote the centralisation of logistics functions” and help “maintain a stable supply system and improve operational efficiency.”
Eneos Materials added that it acquired a rubber sales business for the electronics industry in February as part of the same structural reform programme. (ERJ report)
The company said it will “continue to implement structural reforms” and focus on the “development and stable supply of sustainable advanced products” under the Eneos Group strategy.
