Tire maker says extended range in response to ‘surging demand’ for large tires in Europe
Offenbach, Germany – Falken Tyre Europe GmbH has expanded its 2026 summer tire range, adding new sizes and fitments in response to “surging demand” in European SUV and EV segments.
The updated line-up, said Falken, reflects a shift in the European market toward larger rim diameters and higher load ratings, driven by SUV sales and the characteristics of EV powertrains.
“Consumer demand for EVs and SUVs is reshaping Europe’s automotive landscape,” product manager Marcus Schulz commented in an 18 Feb statement.
The 2026 summer range, pointed out Schulz, has been expanded in areas of the market where the manufacturer is noticing particularly strong growth.
Leading the expansion is the Azenis FK520, with 16 new sizes, including six 22-inch fitments for SUVs.
The range now covers rim diameters from 17-22" and widths from 215-325mm, said Falken, noting that the product retains its lightweight construction and aramid reinforcement.
The e.Ziex range has also been extended with three new fitments for EV models including the Renault Megane and Citroen C4, and is supplied as OE on the Audi Q6 e-tron.
Falken said the tire is designed to meet the “high demands” of heavier EVs, with an optimised tread shoulder contour intended to distribute pressure evenly and reduce rolling resistance.
At the performance end, the Azenis RS820 remains positioned in the ultra-ultra-high-performance segment and is fitted as original equipment on the Audi S3.
The tire is also designed for sports models including the Porsche 911, Audi R8 and BMW M5. Falken said the product incorporates technology derived from its Nürburgring racing programme.
The Ziex ZE320, now available in 61 sizes, completes the summer portfolio, targeting the passenger car segment with a focus on balanced performance and noise reduction.
According to Falken, SUVs account for 54% of new car sales in Europe, while battery-electric vehicles reached a 17.5% market share in the first half of 2025.
