ELT pyrolysis company Pyrum welcomes regulatory classification as “significant development”
Dillingen, Germany - French authorities have formally recognised pyrolysis oil derived from end-of-life tires (ELT) as a raw material for the chemical industry, according to German ELT pyrolysis company Pyrum Innovations AG.
The 17 Jan decision, said Pyrum, provides greater regulatory clarity for tire-derived pyrolysis oil (TPO), strengthening its “connectivity to chemical value chains.”
“This is a significant development for industrial material cycles based on ELTs, as the regulatory classification strengthens the product's connectivity to chemical value chains and improves the predictability of potential purchase and partnership models,” said Pyrum 9 Feb.
The recognition in France, it added, highlights the increasing importance of “standardised, reliable framework conditions for ramping up the market for recycled raw materials.”
Welcoming the move, Pyrum said clear regulatory categories were “essential” for companies to scale up their investments, production and supply chains in the long term.
“The decision in France is an important step for the industrial use of pyrolysis oil from waste tires,” said Pyrum CEO Pascal Klein.
