Korean tire maker expects optimised products for local use to strengthen market penetration
Seoul – Nexen tire has launched a number of “locally customised” products for the US, European and Australian markets with the intention to strengthening its penetration in the key regions.
The products have been “optimised for local driving conditions and consumer needs,” said Nexen 15 Dec, noting “a company-wide product integration strategy to sharpen its competitive edge.”
Nexen said it is adopting a “one tire” strategy, which aims to provide a unified product lineup that delivers optimal results for both internal combustion engine and electric vehicles.
Products bearing the “EV Root” designation provide “stability and superior driving performance” for all vehicle types and have improvements in key performance parameters, including mileage, braking, rolling resistance, and noise reduction.
In the US, Nexen said it has introduced the N’Fera Sport, a high-performance summer tire proven on premium European vehicles.
In January 2026, Nexen tire will launch the all-season tire N’Priz S, which features high fuel efficiency and wear resistance.
For distribution, the company plans to strengthen its market presence by expanding its supply of high-inch and other key fitments to Walmart, the largest US retailer, in order to better meet local demand.
In the European market, Nexen launched the new winter tire Winguard Sport 3 to meet the growing demand for winter tires.
At the same time, the company is expanding the available fitments of its all-weather tire N’Blue 4 Season 2, which also meets winter tire standards.
In Australia, Nexen said it launched the Roadian ATX, a specialised tire for SUVs and pickup trucks that is designed for both on- and off-road driving.
“Nexen tire is continuously expanding its global market competitiveness through a product strategy of precisely reflecting local demand characteristics and consumer needs,” said John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim, CEO of Nexen.
Going forward, he said, Nexen intended to pursue growth, especially through its “EV Root” technology, and enhancing locally customised product portfolios.
