US tire maker appoints Joe Burke as new VP to lead segment
AKRON, Ohio – Goodyear is bringing its aviation operations under a unified global structure as it looks to streamline strategy across its commercial, military and private aviation tire business.
As part of the move, Goodyear appointed Joe Burke as VP for ‘global aviation’, effective 1 Nov, reporting to Gregory Boucharlat, SVP for ‘global commercial,’ the company announced 31 Oct.
Burke has “deep experience across both commercial and aviation segments” at Goodyear and his appointment is intended to drive “continued innovation and growth across the company's global aviation operations.”
Commenting on the new strategy, Boucharlat said aviation was "a strategic segment" for Goodyear.
Aligning global capabilities, he said, will support the US tire maker in meeting the needs of aircraft manufacturers and operators.
Goodyear supplies aircraft tires to commercial airlines, defence customers and private aviation operators.
The company said the unified structure is expected to support further product development and operational efficiency in the aviation segment.
