Onyx Group-owned tire maker entering new ‘international and focused’ phase
Trento, Italy – Marangoni Industrial Tyres, part of the UAE’s Onyx Group, is rebranding as Ferentino Tyre Srl, the company has confirmed to ERJ.
The company was established in 2017 after Dubai-based Onyx Group acquired Marangoni’s solid tire assets. (ERJ report)
Now rebranded as Ferentio, the Trento-headquartered company will be led by long-time leader Lorenzo Stringari.
Products will continue to be sold under the Marangoni brand until the end of the year and will be changed to Ferentino as of next year, according to information provided by the company to ERJ.
Operations will include two production factories in Sri Lanka, manufacturing solid tires as well as car, motorcycle and truck tires , a main distribution centre in Trento and two warehouses in Germany and France.
Furthermore, the company has also recently inaugurated a new 6,000-sq.m. facility in Trento, specialising in the assembly of industrial tires on rims, designed to serve the European market “quickly and flexibly”.
“We’ve decided to change our name to mark a new phase, one that’s more international and focused,” said company.
Under its new strategy, the company intends to “consolidate the Ferentino brand in Europe” and strengthen its distribution network over the coming months.
According to ERJ Global Tire Report 2024, Ferentino Tyre has been operating a passenger car, light truck, TBR and motorcycle tire plant in Horana, Sri Lanka since 2021.
The facility has a capacity to produce 2.4 million tires per year.
