Far East exchanges closed the week ended 12 Sept lower, amid “profit-taking and long liquidation,” reported Japan Exchange Group (JPX). Prices, it said, entered “overbought territory” earlier in the month due to concerns over elevated cup-lump prices after the recent rainy season. Nevertheless, JPX noted that market sentiment remains supported by expectations of lower global interest rates and strong equity market performance.

BUSINESS
India’s tire industry could deliver 12-fold revenue growth by 2047, reaching €125 bn, a joint study by the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association and PwC India found. Tire exports from India, it said, are on track to accelerate, while domestic OE and replacement revenues could grow at around 10% CAGR.
Pirelli and Aston Martin have agreed to collaborate on the integration of Pirelli’s ‘cyber tire’ technology into the British luxury performance brand’s future vehicles.
Cambodia exported 184kt of natural rubber (NR) during the Jan-Aug period, down 12% year-on-year but domestic demand surged 89% year-on-year to 76kt. Overall revenue remained flat at $328m, with local sales contributing roughly $137m.
Cray Valley is to supply Continental with bio-based tackifying resin’ and liquid polybutadiene resin from its production site in Carling, France.
Safic-Alcan has extended a distribution agreement with Momentive for silicone elastomers to also cover France and various eastern European countries
