Purchase strengthens dynamic mechanical analysis capabilities, expands field service coverage
Hudson, Ohio – US rheology testing instrumentation specialist Alpha Technologies has expanded its global reach with the acquisition of France-headquartered Metravib Material Testing.
Based in Limonest, near Lyon, Metravib specialises in dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and fatigue testing and was previously owned by Acoem Group, a producer in AI-powered sensors and systems.
The acquisition brings together two material testing experts, expands global capabilities, improves customer support, and drives product innovation for laboratories, said Alpha in a recent statement.
Alpha is specialised in manufacturing of instruments and software for precision analysis of rubber and elastomeric materials.
The acquisition, said president Neil Friery, will help the company provide further “comprehensive and reliable material testing solutions.”
Combined, the two companies provide a portfolio of material testing solutions, including rheology, DMA, viscoelastic property characterisation, failure analysis, fatigue performance evaluation, and thermo-mechanical analysis.
The merger will also provide customers with broader access to instruments, streamlined support, and expanded global field service coverage.
Post-acquisition, Alpha said it will integrate Metravib’s technologies, including automated specimen handling systems and crack growth testing modules, with its operations.
This, it said, will enhance research capabilities and accelerate product development timelines.
