Tampere, Finland – Finnish tire consulting firm Black Donuts Inc. is finalising preparations to open a new research and development facility, Intire Labs, in Finland.
With operations expected to begin soon, the laboratory is now 95% complete and final system validations are underway, said Black Donuts in an 18 April statement.
The unit will help to support compound research, testing and analysis, with a focus on renewable and recyclable materials.
The facility is intended to serve tire manufacturers, raw material suppliers, and rubber product developers globally.
The R&D centre includes mixing and extrusion equipment, alongside mechanical, thermal, rheological and analytical testing systems.
Black Donuts said the lab is designed to speed up development and provide accurate data to support product and material innovation.
Services will include compound development, material functionality testing, reverse engineering, and failure analysis.
