Factory near Bangalore completes local railway orders, working on delivery for metro projects in Brazil, Egypt
Malonagathihalli, India – Huebner Group has ramped up production at its recently opened rubber transitions manufacturing facility in Malonagathihalli near the Indian city of Bengaluru (Bangalore).
The “Namma factory” started operations in early 2023 and recently delivered its 2,000th transition system, said the German rail and bus components supplier 12 Sept.
The facility, according to the group, has increased the number of employees from 125 to 200 to meet growing demand from the local Indian industry as well as the rest of Asia.
Having completed “two major orders” for a total of 540 gangway systems for the Vande Bharat Express, the plant is now working on orders for metro projects in the Brazilian metropolis of Sao Paulo and the Egyptian capital of Cairo, Huebner said.
Another large project, said the group, is an order from the Indian train manufacturer BEML for 800 gangway systems for the Mumbai Metro.
“It is one of the largest orders in the history of the Huebner Group,” the Kassel, Germany-based supplier added, noting that the plant has “significantly increased” its capacity to support the mobility markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
