Morse Rubber brings elastomer and composite moulding capabilities to global mining and materials industry supplier
Copenhagen – FLSmidth has acquired Morse Rubber, a US manufacturer of heavy-duty rubber products for mineral processing and other applications, the Danish company announced 1 June.
The global supplier of large grinding mills said the deal would strengthen its service offerings especially for mill liners where it has been “capacity constrained in some regions”.
Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed, said FLSmidth, adding that the acquisition does not impact financial guidance for 2023.
Iowa-based Morse Rubber was formed more than three decades ago and has 23 employees, who, will all transfer to FLSmidth, said the 1 June announcement.
The acquisition, it said will add advanced moulding capabilities for rubber and composite mill liners, as well as screen media and various rubber and rubber ceramic wear components to FLSmidth.
Mill liner capacity will be significantly increased, enabling a stronger service offering to customers in North America and Latin America, the company stated.
“We have a clear ambition of improving our capture rate for mill liners on our own installed based. This requires more capacity, and the acquisition of Morse Rubber should be seen in this light,” says Joshua Meyer, service line president of FLSmidth.
“With this acquisition we will be able to offer cost and quality competitive mill liners combined with local presence, local production, and proximity to our North American and Latin American customers,” added Meyer.
With operations worldwide and around 11,000 employees, FLSmidth generated sales of DKK21.8 billion (€2.9 billion) in 2022.
