Zeon executive to lead synthetic rubber manufacturers' group

Kazuyoshi Matsuura of Zeon Elastomers and Chemical takes on president international role for 2023-24 at IISRP
Houston, Texas – Kazuyoshi Matsuura, director and managing executive officer of Zeon Elastomers and Chemical Business, has been elected president international of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) for 2023-24.
Matsuura, whose appointment was confirmed 18 May during the institute’s AGM in Boston, succeeds Robert Rikhoff of Lion Elastomers, who becomes the industry group's past-president international.
The Zeon executive has extensive experience in the polymer industry, where he has held different positions in sales, strategic and marketing areas, and top-management positions, said IISRP’s 30 May announcement.
In his 30-year career at Zeon, Matsuura held a range of senior roles and in 2017 became corporate officer division manager of the Japanese group’s synthetic rubber business.
In 2019, he was appointed director and corporate officer administrative HQ, division manager of HR, general manager of HR, and general manager of Chinese business administration at Zeon – before taking on his current role in 2022.
Matsuura will also serve as president of the IISRP Asia Pacific section, with past-president international Rikhoff serving as president of the Americas section, and Matteo Marchisio of Synthos, as president of the EMEA section.
