European Commission grants unconditional clearance for sale of Trelleborg Wheel Systems
Trelleborg, Sweden - Yokohama Rubber Co. (YRC) is one step closer to completing its €2.1 billion acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems, after receiving an unconditional clearance from the European Commission on 24 March.
The deal has now been approved by all the necessary authorities bar the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which is currently reviewing the acquisition.
The CMA launched its investigation into the deal at the end of January and is set to announce its decision by 28 March.
In a statement 24 March, Trelleborg said a decision from CMA is “expected shortly”, with the transaction set for completion in the first half of the year.
