IoM3 Elastomer Group plans technical afternoon for 17 March
London – The IoM3 Elastomer Group is holding a hybrid afternoon technical discussion meeting (ATDM) on the role of elastomers in power generation.
Scheduled for 17 March, the event will take place at the IOM3 HQ in London, with the possibility to physically attend the talk or join in online.
The event champions are Dr Mokarram Hossain of Swansea University & Prof Clive Siviour of Oxford University.
The free-to-attend meeting will focus on the use of elastomers materials in the generation of clean and sustainable energy.
Examples include emerging technologies such as flexible membrane-based energy harvesters from waves or vibrations.
Talks at the event include:
Converting wave energy with dielectric elastomers: issues, results and perspectives - Prof Giacomo Moretti (University of Trento)
Energy harvesting using dielectric elastomer - Dr Daniil Yurchenko (University of Southampton)
Is the Anaconda wave energy device the ultimate rubber engineering challenge? – Dr Andrea Bucchi (University of Portsmouth)
Combining origami structures and elastomers to produce metamaterials for electromagnetic applications - Prof Zhong You & Dr Chris Stevens (University of Oxford)
