ERJ staff report (BC)
Clermont Ferrand, France – The fastest accelerating supercar at the UK’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (11-14 July) was the Koenigsegg Agera R, seen on the Michelin stand and on the hill in the Michelin Supercar Run.
The 2013 model features new Aircore hollow carbon fibre wheels, uprated power and enhanced aerodynamics, says Michelin. Top speed is quoted as approximately 440 km/h, with acceleration from 0-300 km/h in 14.5s and braking from 300-0 km/h in 6.7s.
The Agera R is designed to run on both petrol and E85 biofuel.
Rushlane added that a prototype Jaguar “hypercar”, one of only five under development and testing, also featured in the Michelin Supercar hill run.
The hybrid Jaguar C-X75 features a 1.6-litre, supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine as well as a silent electric drive. A combined electric and petrol-powered total of 850+hp is claimed.
