Programme set for US seminar on health risks of butadiene/chloroprene

Houston, Texas- An international symposium on, Evaluation of Butadiene and Chloroprene Health Risks,†being held 20-22 Sept 2005 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, will have over 40 presentations on the health effects of butadiene and chloroprene,†said James McGraw, managing director and ceo of the IISRP.
The IISRP is organizing the seminar along with a group of co-sponsors-the American Chemistry Council, American Petroleum Institute, the Society of Toxicology and the Health Effects Institute.
McGraw, who will be the Symposium Coordinator, noted that the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) are also co-sponsoring the event.
The lecture programme has been organised under the leadership of Dr Mathew Himmelstein of DuPont's Haskell Laboratory who is the Symposium Chair. Co-chairing the event will be Dr Robert Baan of the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
