Versalis to make hydrocarbon resins at Priolo plant

San Donato Milanese – Versalis (Eni) has signed a partnership agreement with Neville Venture for the production of hydrocarbon resins at Versalis’ Priolo, Sicily plant.
The aim is to use C5-C9 petroleum cuts which are byproducts from the Priolo cracker; these are currently wasted.
Versalis says: “These new, high added-value product, synergetic with the elastomer business, will be used in specialist applications such as rubber, adhesives, inks and coatings.
Neville Venture is a joint venture between US-based companies Neville Chemical Co., a synthetic resins manufacturer, and GTC, an engineering and technology company serving the chemical, refining and gas sectors.
