Cooper Tire opens Moscow sales office
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Moscow — Cooper Tire Europe Ltd has opened a sales office in Moscow to support existing customers in the region and start building new business there.
The new office will be headed by Alex Kolkov, who joined Cooper recently after serving in leadership positions at multinational companies with sales and production facilities in Russia, including Paulig Rus llc and Sappi, Cooper said. He will be sales manager for Russia.
"Russia holds great opportunity as Cooper continues to build our customer base throughout the region," said Jeff Schumaker, managing director for Cooper Tire Europe.
"With the acquisition of the Cooper Serbia production facility in Kruševac, Serbia, which began operating just over a year ago, Cooper products can be brought to the market and better meet customer needs through the new sales office."
He said the company is "committed long term to the Russian market and looks forward to maintaining its existing customer relationships and establishing new ones in the region."
Cooper did not quantify the size of business it has or seeks in Russia.
