MESNAC appoints new director at US research centre

Akron, Ohio – MESNAC announced the appointment of Dr K. Mohamed Hassan as the executive director of their new Research and Technical Center located in Akron, Ohio.
In this role Dr Hassan will lead a multi-functional engineering and technical team which will focus on specific research and development projects related to the North American market and work in collaboration with MESNAC’s Research Institute based in Qingdao, China.
Dr Hassan has an “extensive academic background” from the University of Alexandria, Egypt and the University of Akron where he gained his PhD in Polymer Engineering. He also held technical and engineering positions in tire industry with companies in the US and Egypt.
Dr Hassan’s most recent position was as assistant instructional director at the University of Akron Research Foundation and College of Polymer Science and Engineering, managing the establishment of an Institute of Elastomer Technology in Saudi Arabia.
Zheng Jiangjia, executive vice president of the MESNAC Group, said: “We are very fortunate to have obtained the services of Dr Hassan. With the combination of his academic background and tire industry experience, he will provide ideal leadership for our Research Center and have the ability to apply a strong scientific approach to our customer driven development programs.”
