IRSG announces 2014 World Rubber Summit and 'World Rubber Week'
ERJ staff report (TP)
Singapore − The biggest gathering of business and policy makers for the rubber industry − the World Rubber Summit (WRS) 2014 is to be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, on 19-21 May 2014.
Held under the umbrella of “World Rubber Week”, the WRS will be combined with the International Rubber Study Group’s (IRSG) inter-government and industry meetings.
Themed “Sustainability: Our investment for a thriving rubber industry” the summit will address the core issues facing the rubber industry. The conference will involve chief executive and senior officers from the world’s major rubber and tire companies.
During the conference, ‘Presentations and Panel Sessions’ will feature discussions on topics such as sustainable rubber industry from myriad perspectives, opportunities arising along the rubber value chain, the outlook and recovery of rubber demand in Europe and North America and emerging markets of Latin America and South-East Asia plus impact of the financial industry.
WRS 2014, for the first time, will also incorporate an exhibition, involving key decision makers from the natural rubber supply-chain. Together with the conference it will provide an ideal platform for high level ‘Buyer-Seller’ meetings.
There will be a gala dinner and cocktail receptions for evening entertainment and ‘networking opportunities’.
More than 20 prominent business leaders have been invited to speak at the conference, including BMW, Continental, Bridgestone, Bekaert, HSBC, Lanxess, World Bank and Government representatives.
