Car designer Hilton to explore industry trends at Future Tire conference

London – The Future Tire Conference will be held 28-29 October in Brussels, and will feature a presentation on “The Smart City” by David Hilton of Motorcity Europe.

During the past 20 years, Hilton has designed a variety of vehicles for several international brands including Ford and Bentley.

In 2000 Hilton started Motorcity Europe which soon became one of Europe's leading design consultancies with clients such as McLaren, Kia, PSA, Nissan, Mazda and VW amongst others.

Hilton’s presentation "The Smart City: How the City of the future, impacts on the car of the future and the future tire" is on day one of the Future Tire Conference.

He is speaking this year to share his experiences as an automotive designer in regards to why tires and wheels are so critical to the visual appeal of our products.

The main focus of his presentation will look at “proportion and style”. Hilton believes tires are an essential part of what makes a car “stand correctly”.

He thinks these issues are important to the tire industry because it needs to understand why designers like himself make the choices they do.

At the event, Hilton hopes to see upcoming new tire technologies or concepts which may affect the visual appearances and functional attributes of future vehicles.
