Lanxess moves rubber chemicals operations to new unit
ERJ staff report (TP)
Cologne, Germany – Lanxess announced its antioxidants and accelerators product lines of its Rubber Chemicals business unit (BU RUC) are being transferred to a new unit.
The products, including DBD-Renacit, will be transferred to a dedicated business line in the Advanced Industrial Intermediates business unit (BU AII).
The decision was taken by the board of management when it met on 8 September 2014, and follows a review of its strategic options that started back in September 2013.
Lanxess is doing a group-wide realignment, which is taking place under the slogan “Let’s Lanxess again”.
“We are certain that the decision to take forward rubber chemical operations inside Lanxess is the best option for long-term commercial success. Consolidating the business areas will generate synergies that will help us further improve our competitiveness,” said Hubert Fink, head of the AII business unit.
As ERJ reported in August, Lanxess announced that the RUC Specialties product line would be continued by the new Rhein Chemie Additives business unit. The secondary accelerators from the accelerators product line of RUC are also moving across.
