IISRP launches life cycle assessment project

Houston, Texas – The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) announced on 3 March the initiation of a project to conduct the life cycle assessment of four major elastomers including ESBR, SSBR, BR and SBS with more than 30 plant sites participating in this global project.
“This is a major initiative for the IISRP and one that we have focused our resources on to provide more information on the environmental impact of SR production,” said James L. McGraw, the IISRP Managing Director and CEO. “This project further emphasises our focus on environmental health and safety issues which has been forefront in our mission.”
The project with be conducted by PRé Consultants based in The Netherlands with offices worldwide.
The IISRP is an international not-for-profit trade association with more than 50 corporate members domiciled in 20 countries who produce 80 percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber. Incorporated in 1960 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the Institute supports section offices in Milan, Tokyo and Beijing.
