NR prices likely to increase further this week

London -- NR prices continued to rise in Tokyo and elsewhere today, while experts predicted further rises during the week.
A blog by Anant Thawatchaipracha on the website of the International Rubber Consortium (IRCo) said prices eased slightly at the end of last week, but forecast more shortages as Wintering sets in and the Chinese new year in early February.
In Tokyo, Tocom's benchmark six-month price continued to rise, to a high of Yen 458.9 ($5.53 per kilo) during afternoon trading on 17 January, before falling back to yen 457.2.
In Singapore short-dated RSS3 saw highs around $5.58/kg on Monday, up by about 8 cents from Friday, while short-dated TSR20 fell slightly to $5.35/kg before closing around $5.36
Indian prices on the NMCE (National Multi-Commodity Exchange) just touched a high of Rs 249.6 ($5.47)/kg for May delivery.
Shanghai prices, usually the world's highest, reached Yuan 38.8 ($5.88) per kilo.
