ERJ staff report (AN)
Gothenburg, Sweden – Swedish firm SKF Group said it has signed a five-year deal to supply transmission seals to China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, reported Automotive News.
The deal is worth more than $15m (€10.93m), according to the Gothenburg-based automotive supplier. SKF will deliver seals for Geely’s six-speed automatic transmission for the Emgrand EC8 sedan and the Gleagle GX7 SUV.
The company will manufacture the seals at a plant in Wuhu, China.
In October, SKF announced it would supply wheel hub bearings and MacPherson suspension bearing units for the Volvo S60L, which is produced in Chengdu.
In November, Volvo launched production of the S60L at its new Chengdu assembly plant that it licenses from its corporate parent, Zhejiang Geely, which purchased the Swedish auto maker from Ford Motor Co. in 2010.
